The second season of Delocated is currently airing on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim at 10pm.

Bob's Burgers, a new cartoon for Fox created by Loren Bourchard (Dr. Katz, Home Movies, Lucy, Daughter of the Devil) and starring Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal, Dan Mintz and me will be airing in January of 2011!

This week on the NYC Rockin' the River Cruises, Buckwheat Zydeco plays on Thursday and The Nerds on Friday.

Next Thursday, August 19 on the cruises is a very specical show - "Howlin' for Hubert: A Tribute to Hubert Sumlin" featuring Hubert
(legendary guitarist and former sideman for Howlin' Wolf) and his all-star band with David Johansen (New York Dolls), John Sebastian
(Lovin' Spoonful), Jimmy Vivino (Fab Faux, Conan O'Brien) and Joey Spampinato & Tom Ardolino from NRBQ. Marcia Ball performs on
August 26 and Donna the Buffalo on August 27. Each cruise is a 2 hour concert and tour that sails past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis

Watch a sneak preview of scenes from MASTERPIECE's new production of The Diary of Anne Frank, the most accurate-ever adaptation of
Anne's moving account of life hiding from the Nazis. Delve into the profound, moving portrayal of Anne as a bright, charming, and
difficult teenager-and as the gifted writer she was destined to become. A discussion follows the screening with the film's lead

PANELISTS

Ellie Kendrick's performance as Anne Frank was acclaimed by The Guardian ("She doesn't just play Anne Frank, she becomes Anne

Rebecca Eaton is celebrating her 25th year as executive producer of MASTERPIECE on PBS, the long-running, much-honored drama series.

Whoopi Goldberg is one of a select few artists who have won an Academy Award, Golden Globe, Emmy, Tony and Grammy, in addition to
countless other awards and honors for her work as a performer, producer, author and humanitarian. She has long been fascinated with
Anne Frank's story, and has been active for decades on the issue of genocide around the world.

Francine Prose marvels in The Diary of Anne Frank: The Book, The Life, The Afterlife that "one of the greatest books about the Nazi
genocide should have been written by a girl between the ages of thirteen and fifteen." Prose observes that Anne has rarely been
given her due as a writer and that her diary reminds us that teenage girls are an underestimated segment of society.

and death. Rabbi Jonah Pesner is the founding director of Just Congregations, part of the social justice arm of the Reform Judaism.
He was the chair of the Massachusetts coalition that secured health care for uninsured residents of that state. Rabbi Elliot Kukla
is a staff rabbi at the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center in San Francisco. Presented in cooperation with ZEEK: A Journal of Jewish

The Confessions of Noa Weber wins Translated Book Award

New York, March 11, 2010 - Melville House's The Confessions of Noa Weber by Gail Hareven, translated from the Hebrew by Dalya Bilu,
has won the 2010 Best Translated Book Award for Fiction. Organized by Three Percent at the University of Rochester, the Best
Translated Book Award is the only prize of its kind to honor the best original works of international literature and poetry
published in the U.S. over the past year. This year the awards ceremony was hosted by Manhattan independent bookstore Idlewild
Books.

"We're delighted to receive this award on behalf of the author, Gail Hareven," said co-publisher Dennis Loy Johnson, "as it
represents what we see as part of our mission at Melville House: Not just to publish both fiction and nonfiction in translation for
the sake of essentially preserving it, as if it were something on the verge of going extinct. That strikes us as a way of further
ensuring its obscurity. Rather, we see it as our mission to trumpet that work loudly, and to work aggressively to get that work in
the hands of as many people as possible, especially those who would not normally encounter translated literature."

The Confessions of Noa Weber is the story of a woman who leads a successful "feminist" life: she has a strong career, a wonderful
daughter she raised alone, and she is a recognized and respected author. Yet her interior life is bound by her obsessive love for
one man--Alek, a Russian émigré and the father of her child, who has drifted in and out of her life. Trying to understand-as well as
free herself from-this lifelong obsession, Noa turns her pen on herself, and with relentless honesty dissects her life. Against the
evocative setting of turbulent, modernday Israel, this examination becomes a quest to transform irrational desire into a greater,
transcendent understanding of love.

The fiction judges this year were Monica Carter (Skylight Books and Salonica), Scott Esposito (Conversational Reading and Center for
the Art of Translation), Susan Harris (Words Without Borders), translator Annie Janusch, Brandon Kennedy (Spoonbill & Sugartown

EXTRAVAGANZA ON DECEMBER 25TH

Join the LESJC as we visit two unique historic sites, the Stanton Street Shul and the
Angel Orensanz Foundation.

Enjoy a delectable sample of foods from a classic Eastern European kiddish of herring, arbis, potatonick, schnapps, dried fruit and halvah.

Marvel at the stunning interior of the Angel Orensanz Foundation, the oldest surviving structure built as a synagogue in New York City. This building housed the former Congregation Anshei Chesed, the third Jewish congregation founded in New York, and the second reform congregation. Participants will also visit a gallery dedicated to the art of the internationally renowned artist, Angel Orensanz.

The Stanton Street Shul (Congregation B'nai Jacob Anshei Brzezan), is one of the few remaining tenement-style synagogues left today. The Shul's unique mix embraces the continuity between long-time Lower East Side residents and younger singles and couples. Its architectural features include a pressed-metal ceiling with two octagonal skylight domes, and a series of 12 wall paintings of the months with zodiac signs.

Additional highlights of the tour include the exterior of Congregation Chasam Sopher, New York City's oldest continuously operating active synagogue site; and Red Square - a red brick cooperative building featuring Dadaist sculptures and a statue of Lenin.

Male singers included Dick Haymes, Billy Eckstine, Bob Eberle, Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. This was a unique period in the history of music. Jazz critic Gary Giddins said: “During the big band era, popular music was good and good music was popular.” Karen Lynn Gorney will narrate.

Sunday seminar (part of the Everett Institutes). Intertwined with myth, the link between Jews and the art of healing evokes a
variety of responses, ranging from humorous commentary to scholarly study. Sherwin Nuland is a clinical professor of surgery and
fellow of the program in the History of Science and Medicine at Yale University. His most recent book is The Soul of Medicine.

Join Yeshiva University History Professor Jeffrey S. Gurock, author of When Harlem was Jewish, 1870-1930, as he leads you through
the sites of Jewish religious life in the remarkable urban settlement of Harlem, once the second largest Jewish community in the
United States. In 1917, it was home to more than 175,000 Jews. Delight in the exteriors of grand synagogues that remind us of
Harlem's Jewish past. See the exterior of an active Ethiopian Hebrew synagogue called "The Commandment Keepers."

You will walk by the former homes of Temple Israel of Harlem, Congregation Shaarei Zedek, The Oheb Zedek Synagogue-home to Cantor

As you are well aware by now, Hedva Goldschmidt, the Israeli film distributer, will be the Consulate's guest this year for our March
2009 Campus Tour.

The Consulate General of Israel is hosting three key women in the Israeli Film Industry to the region during the months of February
and March in honor of International Women's Month.

By hosting women who have achieved great success in the Israeli film industry, we hope to bring the perspective of women who have
worked behind the scenes, promoting and distributing the best film work coming out of Israel.

Hedva Goldschmidt will be available for screenings and lectures in the NY area from March 19 until March 24.

Ms. Hedva Goldschmidt, Go2Films Managing Director, founded the company after 8 years experience in film distribution
(http://www.go2films.com/). She headed the Distribution Dept. at the "Ma'ale" School of Television, Film and the Arts. Founded in
1989, Ma'aleh is an institution of higher education which trains filmmakers to produce work inspired by their Jewish heritage,
fostering a unique connection between the world of media and Jewish culture. The school aims to build bridges between Jewish
tradition and social experience, as well as between the religious and secular worlds.

Founded in 2005, Go2Films specializes in the distribution, marketing and exhibition of Independent Israeli films. Based in Jerusalem
, Go2Films represents some of the more unique and contemporary films coming out of Israel today. Go2Films selects only high-quality
films that explore the social and multi-cultural aspects of life in Israel , focusing on moving stories and fascinating portraits
that resonate for the world-wide a audience.

Ms. Goldschmidt currently serves as the Marketing and Distribution Consultant for the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund. A former
Graphic Designer and freelance Illustrator, she lives in Jerusalem with her husband and five children.

Ms. Goldschmidt will be happy to lecture about the following subjects with visual excerpts from films:

- An overall look at contemporary Israeli Religious Cinema and it's place in the Israeli Film Scene

Multi-Cultural Israel today.

An Innovative Glimpse on Jewish religious filmmaking in Israel

SRUGIM

The young and new creation - Srugim, dealing with religious singles living in Jerusalem, managed to enter Israeli prime time TV and
be came the most talked about series of the year.
Israeli cinema has revolutionized over the past years in regards to cultural and ethnic others. This is partly a result of Ma'ale -
a religious Jewish film school and the Gesher Multi-Cultural Film Fund who supports multi cultural filmmakers from different social
and ethnic backgrounds.

As the advisor to the Gesher foundation and as the founder of the Ma'ale distribution department, Hedva will speak on the
challenges, the difficulties and the successes of the religious cinema in the international world.

The discussion will include sagments from acclaimed Israeli documentary:
Yoel, Israel and Pashkevils, an intimate look on a closed society of the Ultra Orthodox in Mea-Shearim (as a contradiction to the
cinematic approach in SRUGIM).

Twenty two year-old Sasha's greatest wish is to become an Israeli. He has
become religious, changed his name to Yair and speaks only in Hebrew - even when he is addressed in Russian. He has completely cut
himself off from his Russian past, including his father and his Russian friends.

Just before his marriage to his native Israeli girlfriend, Yair discover that his mother was not Jewish.

The revelation forces him to confront his religious beliefs and journey back to the Russian identity he has fought to suppress.

In Israel today there are more than 300,000 Israeli citizens, mainly immigrants from former Soviet Union, who are not considered to
be Jews by the Jewish Law. The film is not only raising the question of conversion n Israel, but is mainly about the relations
between Israelis and Immigrants, secular and religious and touches the question of identity.

Hedva Goldschmidt, who is the wife of the filmmaker and worked many years in the absorption of immigrants in Israel, bring the
personal stories behind the scenes.
