An ultra-liberal academic, she is forced to deal with a provocative political environment, her personal relationships and their profound realities, and mostly Third, a wrestler who is prep school educated and a student in her Masterpieces of Western Literature course. He turns her world upside down by challenging her feminism, ethics and morality.

Frank Loesser was truly a remarkable fella. Despite coming from a family of music educators, he was entirely self-taught as a pianist. He spent nearly 20 years composing in Hollywood, but his work on Broadway stands out as his monumental achievement. He had five shows produced on Broadway and four of them were huge hits. Not even Richard Rogers had a better batting average.

This is Wang’s amazing journey, exploring human relationships and communications that go beyond common language. The climax of the movie takes place in a park, a scene between an old Iranian woman and the Chinese old man in mixed languages, Mandarin, Farsi and English, “with NO subtitles!” The audience has no problem understanding it and it is fluent, enticing and absolutely delightful. Masterful acting, an astonishingly smart and fascinating film.

Producer, writer, director Eran Riklis has created a drama based on the true story of a Palestinian widow who must defend her lemon tree field when a new Israeli Defense Minister moves next door to her and threatens to uproot them because they pose a threat to his safety. In the ensuing legal battle, she develops a relationship and bond with the Defense Minister’s wife and all the players find themselves alone in the struggle to survive.

Perennial Bendheim favorites, singers Wendy Kimball and Sean Mahony, accompanied by the Mark Toback trio, pay tribute to that most wonderful era of popular music: the Big Band Era. The female singers of the day featured Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Helen O’Connell. Male singers included Dick Haymes, Billy Eckstine, Bob Eberle, Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. This was a unique period in the history of music. Jazz critic Gary Giddins said: “During the big band era, popular music was good and good music was popular.” Karen Lynn Gorney will narrate.
